You’ll experience the transformative power of gong sounds, learning how they can reset and enhance your nervous system. Monique will demonstrate the role of presence in therapeutic settings and share practical techniques for cultivating it. After the demonstrations, we’ll enjoy a walk to Pomona Cafe by the ocean, where Monique will lead a discussion on integrating presence into daily life and professional practices.

✨ About Monique ✨
Monique Illona is the owner of The Magical Mystical Gong Lab and Hand in Hand Massage in Swampscott which she opened in 1991. Monique studied gongs with Bear Love and is the only certified B Love flumie instructor and player in the country. This way of playing gongs create melodic sounds and vibrations and participants often have a deeply relaxing experience that can reset the nervous system.

Monique is a Sound Weaver and during gong play may weave her voice with the sounds of the gongs. She is a certified Sound Healer. Monique has traveled the world, published a book, ‘A Dual Path: Sacred Practices & Bodywork, was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame, served in the IDF, taught self-defense, has been a public speaker and Massage Instructor, has a BFA in sculpture from the School of Visual Arts, NY, and a Masters in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University. Her life motto is ‘Just B Love’.
