Tell us more about your company! What do you do and what pushed you to start?
MK Your Dream Day began when I helped a co-worker plan her wedding. I loved every moment and soon started helping other brides, growing my team of wedding professionals. We help couples across New England create customized wedding plans, handling every detail from venue selection to decor and entertainment.
What is your definition of success? How do you know when you’ve reached it?
Success is not dreading work, feeling excited, and being motivated by the couples I help. Being grateful to feel this way daily is my measure of success.
Tell us about your most transformational moment as an entrepreneur?
Speaking at my alma mater, Providence College, sharing my journey, and answering students’ questions—it was incredibly rewarding to give back and inspire others.
What was one of your biggest challenges in business?
Budgeting. Managing revenue projections, taxes, and expenses while growing the business and adding team members or programs. Learning to weigh the pros and cons of every expense has been critical.
How do you handle the harder days?
I remind myself that my couples trust our team and focus on how far I’ve come instead of comparing myself to others or dwelling on negativity.
How has being a Boston Business Women Inner Circle member positively influenced your life + business?
It’s been amazing to connect with other women in business, including wedding vendors and entrepreneurs from various industries. Networking through the group has been invaluable.
Tell us about your most proud moment in your career.
Leaving my full-time job of four years to pursue my business full-time. It was one of the scariest yet most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made.
Who is the woman behind your business? What does she like? How does she spend her free time? What does she value?
I’m 28, love my couples, team, and company. I’m also a yoga teacher and enjoy summers on Cape Cod when not at a wedding.
What makes you stand out from others in your field? What do you do differently?
We work with couples to make their wedding unique and personal, rather than prioritizing Instagram aesthetics or our personal design preferences.
Where can we keep up with you? What social media platforms do you use the most?
