How long have you been a Boston Business Women member?
5 years
Where are you based? How did you end up there?
Boston — born (Milton) and raised.
Tell us more about your company! What do you do and what pushed you to start?
Growing Joyful is a transformational parent coaching company. I was pushed to start it after having a disorganized attachment with my mother growing up. After years of therapy in my 20s (essentially reparenting myself), I knew I wanted to raise my child differently.
I have taken many certifications, and I also spent time as a classroom teacher and a nanny in my early 20s. All of these experiences, plus having my twins arrive early at 29 weeks, led me to continue learning about raising wonderful humans who feel a safe connection to me — and to share that knowledge with other parents.
What is your definition of success? How do you know when you’ve reached it?
Happy clients who feel solid and joyful after working with me!
Tell us about your most transformational moment as an entrepreneur.
Right now, it’s learning the tech side of my business :)
What was one of your biggest challenges in business?
Learning that sharing your worth isn’t bragging — especially when you have something truly helpful to share with the world.
How do you handle the harder days? The struggles? Those moments when you feel like giving up?
Long walks with my husband and two Bernese Mountain Dogs, lots of snuggles with my kids, or meeting up with my best friends for some healing by French fries.
How has being a Boston Business Women Inner Circle member positively influenced your life and business?
I have been introduced to so many smart and fascinating women in the Boston area. I am so grateful for this community.
Tell us about your most proud moment in your career.
The pride my kids have shown me — they tell all of their friends and constantly write me notes of support! For them to see me doing work I love and being so happy is the biggest gift.
Who is the woman behind your business? What does she like? How does she spend her free time? What does she value?
I value kindness, learning, listening deeply, and sharing honestly. I love a great margarita and usually have 3–5 books going at once. I love fashion (hence my prior career as a personal stylist) and skincare. My husband and kids are my favorite people to spend time with, but I also love a good night out with my girlfriends.
What makes you stand out from others in your field? What do you do differently?
I help people work on their childhood wounds to find joy again. I help them have fun alongside their kids while still holding boundaries for themselves to feel fulfilled. I’m also a lot of fun to work with — we’ll most likely end up being friends and going for margaritas at the end of a session!
