Where are you based? How did you end up there?
Quincy, MA. My business is mobile, serving most of Massachusetts, lower New Hampshire, and upper Rhode Island.
Tell us more about your company! What do you do and what pushed you to start?
I’ve loved photography my whole life. I begged my parents for a camera as a child and have been looking at life through a lens ever since. I studied photography in college (BFA) but life led me to another business I ran for 26 years. I continued photography quietly until six years ago when I started my photography business as a side gig. Now I’m ramping it up with the goal of making it my main business.
What is your definition of success? How do you know when you’ve reached it?
I don’t have a strict definition. Ideally, I want to make photography my only business and feel successful when I can fully support myself by providing clients with beautiful artwork for their walls.
Tell us about your most transformational moment as an entrepreneur.
Figuring out how I want to serve my clients best — I love giving extra and going above and beyond.
What was one of your biggest challenges in business?
Finding time while managing another business, being patient, and putting myself out there as an extreme introvert.
How do you handle the harder days? The struggles? Those moments when you feel like giving up?
Having a strong support system. Talking with like-minded people and peers going through the same journey helps me stay motivated.
How has being a Boston Business Women Inner Circle member positively influenced your life + business?
I’ve gained great ideas, met wonderful people, and found valuable takeaways from Facebook posts. I look forward to building more connections.
Tell us about your most proud moment in your career.
Showing my portrait clients their finished artwork and seeing their faces light up. Knowing I helped create something they’ll treasure for years is incredibly fulfilling.
Who is the woman behind your business? What does she like? How does she spend her free time? What does she value?
I’m a single mom to three grown children. I love my family, travel, reading, and experiencing new things. I also have three dogs and a cat I adore. My free time is limited but rejuvenating when I can travel.
What makes you stand out from others in your field? What do you do differently?
I serve clients from start to finish at the highest level. From the first call to delivering or hanging their artwork, I provide detailed, personalized service. I photograph families, children, newborns, couples, dancers, cosplay, and pets. Portraits are tailored and unique. I offer visualization tools, high-quality prints, canvases, metals, albums, and more — ensuring clients never feel overwhelmed.
