Where are you based? How did you end up there?
Lincoln, MA - I grew up in Massachusetts and have never left! I love to be near the city, but in a quiet town.
Tell us more about your company! What do you do and what pushed you to start?
I am a residential interior designer. I came from a large architecture firm in Boston, mostly doing commercial design, but needed a change after Covid started to change the industry. I've always thought I would like to own my own firm some day, and that day came two years ago thankfully!
What is your definition of success? How do you know when you’ve reached it?
Success is when you get to the point where you can work as much as you need to make enough money to sustain a simple lifestyle, and still have enough time to enjoy it!
Who is the woman behind your business? What does she like? How does she spend her free time? What does she value?
Melanie is a down-to-earth mom and wife who loves design, old houses, and meeting new people.
What makes you stand out from others in your field? What do you do differently?
I have always been a jack-of-all-trades and have been able to fill many roles in my 20+ years of working professionally. I think my experience and knowledge make me stand out as I approach design from all sides (aesthetics, function, construction, and project management). I am reliable, trustworthy, creative, and detailed oriented. I feel that I do things a little differently when helping my clients find out what they need and like, and ultimately make the design process fun and easier for them.
