How long have you been a Boston Business Women member?

Two months

Where are you based? How did you end up there?

I now live in Santa Fe, NM. I lived in Boston for most of my life. My partner and I moved to Santa Fe when he retired. I was resistant but it was an especially great place to live during the pandemic. Most of my clients are still in the Boston area.

Tell us more about your company! What do you do and what pushed you to start?

I'm a business coach. I work with entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals. I started my business after working in public health, personal growth and real estate. My coaching combines a lot of my background and I love it!

What is your definition of success? How do you know when you’ve reached it?

Success is going to work every day and being happy and fulfilled, even doing the mundane tasks necessary in one's own business. I have a sense of joy and happiness in my work that I've attained since I started self-employment. I'm happy and fulfilled, so I feel successful!

Tell us about your most transformational moment as an entrepreneur?

I was working in consulting. I had to work weekends writing proposals in the summer. One day I was on the Vineyard and realized I didn't really want to do this anymore. So I then started my business.

What was one of your biggest challenges in business?

Getting clients is always somewhat of a challenge. I am the ``secret weapon`` for many of my clients, so they don't want to refer me, esp. those in real estate who are very competitive with their colleagues.

How do you handle the harder days? The struggles? Those moments when you feel like giving up?

I never feel like giving up. If I'm frustrated I talk to a coach-colleague or a friend or just take the day off!

How has being a Boston Business Women Inner Circle member positively influenced your life + business?

I just joined!

Tell us about your most proud moment in your career.

Probably when I was asked to speak to a group of coaches in India for International Coaching Week. When I started it as a small event in Boston in 1999 I had no idea it would take on a life of its own!

Who is the woman behind your business? What does she like? How does she spend her free time? What does she value?

I'm very peaceful and contemplative. I love to hang out with my partner and enjoy our life together. I love to read non-fiction, to meditate and to entertain. I love the freedom my business gives me. I also am passionate about donating to relief organizations, esp. food pantries and overseas relief non-profits.

What makes you stand out from others in your field? What do you do differently?

I was one of the coaches before coaching was a ``thing``. I offer consulting services, resources and ideas....a lot more that many other trained coaches. I' a boutique master coach and offer very personalized services. I'm also a maverick in the field!

Where can we keep up with you? What social media platforms do you use the most?

I'm mostly on FB: Jerri Udelson, Beyond the Sale, Jerri Udelson-author, Entrepreneurial Coaching
