BBW MEMBER INTERVIEW: Katharina Ikels, Integrative Gut Health Coach of Kaci & Co Wellness

What is your name?
Katharina (Kaci) Ikels
What is your title?
Integrative Gut Health Coach
What is your business name?
What is your website URL?
www.kaciandcowellness.com
What is your Instagram handle?
How long have you been a Boston Business Women member?
Less than a year
Where are you based? How did you end up there?
I am based in North Grafton, MA and landed here after moving from the city to have more room to raise kids. I moved to MA from SC over 20 years ago when I met my husband.
Tell us more about your company! What do you do and what pushed you to start?
At Kaci & Co Wellness, I help entrepreneurial moms to rebalance the body using holistic, foundational health practices. I use my experience as an RN and Integrative Health Practitioner to build wellness skills that are sustainable for busy women to use in their own daily lives and share with their family, hoping to help the next generation be more health conscious.
What is your definition of success? How do you know when you’ve reached it?
I view success as having a sustainable business where I get to help other women in their quest to be entrepreneurs too! I can help mompreneurs by helping them create wellness practices they love and get to the root causes of what is keeping them exhausted and struggling with digestive issues.
I'll know I've reached the success point when my community is growing, vibrant and interactive. I view community as the most important part of what I do - like your new tribe to support you in your vision for yourself!
Tell us about your most transformational moment as an entrepreneur?
My most transformational moment as an entrepreneur was when I began to tell other people what I was up to... You see, I had been keeping myself small and wondering why I wasn't getting anywhere! Once I decided to show up authentically, things began to shift.
What was one of your biggest challenges in business?
My biggest challenge has been a common one... balancing a busy mom life with a part time job as a nurse, along with starting a business coaching other women on these exact topics! It's a lot! I had to learn when to turn things on and when to turn them off to find a successful balance.
How do you handle the harder days? The struggles? Those moments when you feel like giving up?
When things get hard, I take a break. I step outside of the to do list and go back to my why. I go back to thinking about the community I am building and what I means to the women I am helping. this grounds me back to my purpose and drives me forward again after I've taken the rest I need.
How has being a Boston Business Women Inner Circle member positively influenced your life + business?
I am new to BBW but I can already see what I can gain by being present and jumping into all the resources available.
Tell us about your most proud moment in your career.
My most proud moment in coaching has been when I had a client share with me that she felt seen and heard for the first time... it brought her to tears and I'll admit me too! It is very rewarding and something to be proud of when you can hold space for someone struggling and help them to shift their perspective on life.
Who is the woman behind your business? What does she like? How does she spend her free time? What does she value?
I am a mom, wife, nurse, coach and more! I love all kinds of things like nature and open spaces. I love to create, although I wouldn't have always thought I was creative. I spend my free time hanging with my family, cuddling my Sphynx cats and getting into nature as much as I can. My values are simple... honesty, hard work, space to rest and family above all else.
What makes you stand out from others in your field? What do you do differently?
I stand out because I am looking at you as a whole person. A Holistic approach to wellness that includes: mindset, habits, stress, personal growth, and all the physical things like gut health, hormone balance and more.
Where can we keep up with you? What social media platforms do you use the most?
I am mostly on Instagram, Facebook and trying to keep up with Pinterest. I have a free Facebook community for Exhausted Mompreneurs that can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/kaciandco/
