How long have you been a Boston Business Women member?

Since November 2022

Where are you based? How did you end up there?

I'm based in Framingham, but work mostly online with my clients. We chose Framingham due to the accessibility to the Pike and Rt 9, and for the community here.

Tell us more about your company! What do you do and what pushed you to start?

I'm the functional health practitioner for savvy entrepreneurial women who want to banish bloat, resolve chronic digestive issues and get off the hormone rollercoaster, so that they can show up every day feeling like a million bucks!

After years of health coaching and ``guessing`` with my clients, I delved into the functional realm, which has allowed me to use lab testing to get real data on where the imbalances are within my clients. It was the missing piece to my program, and it is always the missing piece to my clients health struggles.

How have you grown within your personal and professional life due to the success of your business?

I have grown so much. I'm an avid learner and so as I've learned strategies and techniques I have been able to put them to use in my own life, while helping others to do so as well. As I have grown my business it has been incredible to see my clients faces when they've finally gotten results that they truly had lost all hope of ever getting. This work has completely changed who I am as a person, I've grown and evolved as my business has grown and evolved.

What is your definition of success? How do you know when you’ve reached it?

My definition of success is freedom, while making a difference in the world and for others. For me, it is freedom to make my own schedule, financial freedom, and small freedoms like taking an afternoon off. Do we ever fully reach it? I'm usually always striving for something more, though I certainly feel successful.

Tell us about your most transformational moment as an entrepreneur?

I had a client who had come to me with IBS. She had suffered for over 20 years, with nothing giving her much relief. After working together for 4 months, she told me it was gone! I was so happy for her, it truly changed how she was able to feel and show up every day. For me, it gave me the confidence that what I was offering does work! It was a win-win for both of us and put me on a trajectory to help more women with chronic digestive issues.

What was one of your biggest challenges in business?

One of my biggest challenges was failing forward. When we have failure after failure, it gets easier and easier to want to quit. Many days I was so ready to throw in the towel! I had a mentor of mine say ``how's THAT going for you?`` (read with a condescending tone) after I had made a choice to go in one direction, that didn't work out perfectly. But something inside of me kept moving forward and I learned so much along the way, in business and about myself. Most days, you really have to put aside other people's doubts and have faith that everything happens for a reason and will get you where you want to go in the end.

How has being a Boston Business Women Inner Circle member positively influenced your life + business?

It has been so wonderful to be a part of such a supportive community. Everyone is so willing to help and give advice, it's wonderful to be able to tap into such a wealth of information.

Tell us about your most proud moment in your career.

My most proud moment in my career came when I got off a client call one day and realized I really knew what I was doing...I had created a program that worked, had clients that were having successes, and I was loving what I was doing.

Who is the woman behind your business? What does she like? How does she spend her free time? What does she value?

I'm a mom of 2 boys, ages 19 and 21, and my husband is a professional chef in Boston. I love to read (fiction and non-fiction), travel, cook and spend time with my family and friends, and of course spend time walking with our 8 yo maltipoo.

What makes you stand out from others in your field? What do you do differently?

Where many health practitioners are looking for a ``diagnosis`` or a name to put with a person's symptoms, I dig deep, and look to see where or what the root cause may be. Sometimes a root cause cannot be determined, but by peeling the layers back, there is always an imbalance somewhere. I take my time with my clients to get to know them really well, then, with the lab data, we are able to really dial in WHY they aren't feeling great and get to work correcting the issues.

Where can we keep up with you? What social media platforms do you use the most?

I'm mostly on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/christalyons31)
