Why You’re Not Reaching Your Goals and How to Course Correct πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

As a new month, season, and quarter begin, it’s the perfect time to reflect on our goals for the future. Congratulations to those who achieved their revenue goals or made personal breakthroughs over the past three months. But if you didn’t quite hit your targets, know that you’re not alone. I’ve been in that same position, struggling to achieve my goals, and looking back, I realize that self-sabotage was often the root cause.

In this blog, I’ll discuss three common reasons why you may have fallen short of your goals and share strategies to help you turn things around.

1. Lack of Clarity and Vision

The first reason you may have not hit your goals last quarter is a lack of vision and clarity. Without a real sense of direction, you cannot create a clear plan to go after what you want. To resolve this, you need to get clear on what you want and how you’re going to get it. So take some time to write down your goals in detail, and break them down into smaller, achievable steps. Remember not to think too far into the future or it can be overwhelming, just think about the next 3 months. Create a plan and set deadlines for each step, and then track your progress along the way. A great guide for this is my Life Planning Workbook.Β Β

2. Procrastination

Another reason you may not have hit your goals last quarter is procrastination. Let’s face it, we all do it. Whether it’s scrolling on our phones instead of writing that blog, or binge-watching Netflix for hours, there are endless distractions in our world today. However, procrastination only leads to more stress, missed opportunities, and missed targets. To overcome this, it’s crucial to develop the habit of taking action right away. One technique that has been a game-changer for me is Mel Robbin’s 5-Second Rule. Check it out to see if it works for you too! Additionally, time boxing can be helpful – set specific times for working on your goals each day, and stick to them. Another strategy is breaking down tasks into smaller, manageable chunks and rewarding yourself for each completed task. When you make progress consistently, you’ll build momentum and see results.

3. Fear of FailureΒ

The last reason you may not have hit your goals last quarter is the fear of failure. It’s completely normal to feel afraid of failing, I’ve been there too. We often worry about what others will think of us or how we will be perceived if we don’t succeed. However, if you let that fear hold you back, you’ll never reach your full potential. To overcome this, you need to reframe your mindset around failure. Instead of seeing failure as a negative outcome, view it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Remember, “what you are seeking is also seeking you.” So take some risks and try new things, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. When you embrace failure as part of the process, you’ll be more resilient and persistent in pursuing your goals.

In conclusion, ladies, don’t let setbacks discourage you. It’s a new season and a new beginning to hit your revenue and personal goals. Remember to get clear on your goals, take consistent action, and reframe your mindset around failure. With these strategies and the support of BBW, you’ll be well on your way to achieving your goals and living your best life.
