How long have you been a Boston Business Women member?

I joined in January 2019 and love the community and offerings!

Where are you based? How did you end up there?

I am based in Quincy, Massachusetts. I moved to Quincy from my home in New Jersey after college in 2009, and lived in the same cozy and quaint apartment for nearly a decade during my 20s. Then I moved with my boyfriend to Weymouth for 3 years, and ultimately wanted to live in Quincy again. We are now renting a beautiful water-front home in Quincy, which is a perfect fit for us (and our dog Blake!). I love the neighborhood, neighbors, small businesses, and the beach!

Tell us more about your company! What do you do and what pushed you to start?

I am newly in private practice for Mental Health Counseling and Emotional Wellness Yoga Instruction. Moved deeply by my experiences with the many benefits of yoga and psychotherapy, I decided to pursue a career in clinical mental health counseling and yoga. I’ve been passionately working in the mental health field, as well as in the yoga industry, and my heart’s work is to help guide clients to explore and deepen into themselves to lead more authentic and joyful lives. My experience in holistic wellness and mind-body modalities for healing has led me towards guiding individuals to reach their full potential for optimal well-being. Through my work, I support individual clients and groups in managing their symptoms, deepening their relationships to themselves and others, and coming home to themselves.

Tell us about your most transformational moment as an entrepreneur?

I was sitting in meditation and the voice of my inner knowing (as I call my intuition) spoke to me and simply said two words: ``Private Practice.`` This was the catalyst that has shifted me to take the leap into a new part of my life's journey.

How do you handle the harder days? The struggles? Those moments when you feel like giving up?

As a therapist, I am honest and real, totally truthful that I have hard days, too! I even had a blog published in multiple outlets called ``How Yoga Saved Me.`` In the hardest times, ``filling my cup`` takes top priority so I can help myself and in turn, also help others. I turn to my yoga practice, my supportive loved ones, my mentorship communities, being in nature and at the beach, social media, essential oils, healing pendants from Kate king Jewelry, seeing my energy healers, volunteering, sleep and rest, reading inspirational poetry, and probably so much more! It all helps me!

Tell us about your most proud moment in your career.

The proudest moment of my career was the moment I stepped into my power as an entrepreneur and had the confidence to open my own private practice for mental health counseling and emotional wellness yoga instruction. It was the moment that I recognized my experience in a group practice, agency clinic, and community mental health had led me to open my own practice!

Who is the woman behind your business? What does she like? How does she spend her free time? What does she value?

I am authentically real, honest, empathetic and compassionate, honest and non-judgmental, insightful and trustworthy. As a recovering perfectionist, I love connecting with my messiness, imagination, and creativity. I love being true to myself and serving others in a capacity that is helpful. I am passionate about nurturing my relationships with loved ones and living in my truth. I love seeing my healers and gaining new insight and connections. I value living passionately in this word and in my lifetime.

What makes you stand out from others in your field? What do you do differently?

My ``way of being`` is unique and different. I am a therapist who can be a sounding board, a listening ear, and a therapeutic partner in problem-solving to make a client's life better for them. I see the client as whole and human. Utilizing a safe and supportive approach that is led by the client, I offer suggestions and guidance, encouraging clients to find the best-fit path for their journey. Allowing all my clients to heal at their own pace, I truly believe in the power of the authentic therapeutic relationship.
