Where are you based? How did you end up there?

Dartmouth, MA (SouthCoast). Grew up here and moved back after being away for 13 years.

Tell us more about your company! What do you do and what pushed you to start?

I provide online training and nutrition coaching for women who are too busy to spend hours at the gym and feel stuck with their progress.

My signature HIIT & Lift program is a 12-week dumbbell based program that helps women burn fat and build lean muscle tone in under 30 minutes. Most participants of HIIT & Lift graduate into my online membership portal; Burn, Build & Breathe where they get regular coaching from me, monthly challenges, discounts to in-person workshops, etc.

And my MetabolicU program is a 10-week nutrition program where I help women build themselves a flexible metabolism by teaching them how to balance (not eliminate) carbs and fats in their diet without tracking!

I started providing online programming and fitness challenges for clients back in 2015, while I was on maternity leave with my second son. After that, I realized providing online options alongside in-person training was a great way to create some flexibility in my schedule while allowing me the opportunity to connect and help other women outside of my gym.

What is your definition of success? How do you know when you’ve reached it?

If my clients feel successful, I feel successful. If they're finally feeling stronger, healthier, happier and overall more confident....I feel successful.

Tell us about your most transformational moment as an entrepreneur?

I attended two business workshops in LA this year and being able to connect with other industry professionals was transformational for me personally and my business.

What was one of your biggest challenges in business?

Constantly showing up online in this digital age of short form videos. I'm not an entertainer, dancer, comedian, etc. I want to show up authentically and not feel like I'm doing things just for views/likes.

How do you handle the harder days? The struggles? Those moments when you feel like giving up?

Giving up is NOT an option but there are definitely days even sometimes weeks where I feel like I'm failing at either being a business woman, wife, mom or ALL THREE! Journaling really helps any feelings of overwhelm, connecting with other like-minded women in my industry and also just reminding myself that I am NOT super woman and tomorrow is another day to do better.

How has being a Boston Business Women Inner Circle member positively influenced your life + business?

I'm a very new member but I'm looking to connect and add value to lives of other women both personally and professionally.

Tell us about your most proud moment in your career.

Last summer I decided I wanted to start a podcast. I am not tech savvy and other than being an avid podcast listener, I had no idea where to start! But now, here I am one year later celebrating the first birthday of Making FIT Work with over 5,000 downloads and over 30, 5-star reviews.

Who is the woman behind your business? What does she like? How does she spend her free time? What does she value?

I'm Nina. Soon to be 42-year old entrepreneur, wife, mom of two boys and dog mom. I grew up on the SouthCoast but after college I moved to Providence, RI and then bounced around from there until I found my way back here 5 years ago. I love to spend my free time at the beach (boy, did I miss living near the ocean!!), hiking, skiing and playing volleyball!

Other than that, you can typically find me on the sidelines of my kid's sporting events.<br /> ⚽⚾🏀🏈🥍

But as active as I love to be, I also truly appreciate doing absolutely nothing....journaling, listening to podcasts, watching movies and sitting at the beach watching the waves crash.

Also, I love a good cup of coffee and hate cooking. 🙂

What I value most is CONNECTION.

What makes you stand out from others in your field? What do you do differently?

I'm not a former athlete. I'm not naturally fit or skinny. I know what's it's like to have big weight loss goals - I gained 60lbs with each of my pregnancies! So when I say I get it, I truly do. I know how hard it is to prioritize your health, fitness and sanity when trying juggle work, life and family.

I work with all of my clients on creating consistency. Anyone can stick to a plan for 30 days but how do you create something you don't fall off from? That's my superpower.
