What is your name?
Renee Bordner
What is your occupation?
Music Studio Owner & Instructor
What is your business name?
How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?
Less than 1 year.
What is your instagram handle?
What is your linked in URL?
Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?
We relocated to New England 10 years ago
Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
I was looking for an exciting and engaging piano instructor for my son 15 years ago and was not able to find a great instructor who was also accepting new students. So with some nudging from friends, I put my master's degree in education to use and started teaching piano lessons.
What would your clients say about you and your company?
We put our students and their goals first.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Do not ever give up!
What is your favorite book?
There are so many to choose from but any book with music notes is a favorite for me!
What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)
Organization! In order to run a music school with 550 students and a non-profit from our home, we must have organized systems in place!
What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying it in your career or business?
We have so many accomplishments to celebrate with our students that it is hard to pick one. I must say our 2nd Annual Note-worthypalooza (an outdoor music festival) was a huge success for our students.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
I am not sure but sometimes I do wish I had started the music school earlier.
How do you enjoy your free time?
Relaxing with my family, baking, gardening, and walking our dogs.
What is something that not many people know about you?
I experience stage fright too!
