BBW MEMBER INTERVIEW: Wendy Pyne, Financial Advisor

What is your name?

Wendy Pyne

What is your occupation?

I help people buy tax free income (financial advisor).

What is your business name?

How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?

Less than 1 year.

What is your instagram handle?

N/A

What is your linked in URL?

Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?

I'm originally from Western MA, but came out here to go to college at Northeastern than UMass Boston. Almost 30 years (Yikes!) later I'm still here, just in MetroWest.

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?

I started my firm Protegro with the idea of helping women and their families take more control over their financial futures so they can focus more on what matters most to them. I grew up in an environment where money was scarce and I saw first hand how scared my mother was about money and investing and how that has affected her years later. This and other events prompted me to pursue a career in finance. I love helping people discover and use various financial tools that help them grow their money, protect it from taxation, inflation and market risk and keep their hard earned wealth within their family instead of the government or a nursing home. As they say, money doesn't buy you happiness, but it does create a lot of choices!

What would your clients say about you and your company?

My clients have said that they have greater peace of mind working with us at Protegro. They have a written financial plan with concrete steps to take along with contingency steps in case things, well, don't go according to plan! Many people I work with have said that their previous advisor was inaccessible and wouldn't take the time to hear their concerns or validate their thoughts. Here at Protegro, we would do anything to protect our family, and when someone becomes a client, they're like family.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Never assume anything!

What is your favorite book?

OOh, lots of books, but Jane Eyre is still there.

What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)

I love Doodle polls, Calendly and my Panda Planner!<br />

What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying it in your career or business?

Lately I've been having amazing conversations with people on how to create tax free wealth creating income.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

There are no accidents or coincidences, everything happens for a reason, and for the better!

How do you enjoy your free time?

I love being outside, tending to the chickens, cats and children (not necessarily in that order!) growing microgreens, weightlifting, biking and exploring.

What is something that not many people know about you?

I have a pretty impressive French accent, but can't remember much of my French!
