I am a Entrepreneur, Founder, and Business Owner.

How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?

Less than 1 year.

What is your instagram handle?

What is your linked in URL?

Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?

I was born + raised in Needham, MA.

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?

Pottery with a Purpose, is a woman-owned company that promotes individual and community well-being through a thoughtfully curated line of eco-conscious DIY pottery kits + virtual team pottery workshops that invite creativity and mindfulness from the home or office - all while giving back to mental health initiatives.

A lifelong struggle with anxiety and an early career spent in the fast-paced tech industry that didn't align with my values, led me to seek mental and physical balance, relief from daily anxiety, as well as a means of inspiration in an old hobby - pottery making. Realizing that not everyone has time, space, or the budget to recreate all that a ceramics studio offers, I established Pottery with a Purpose in April of 2021, delivering the same creative benefits to others through sustainably packaged and designed “do-it-yourself” pottery kits containing everything necessary for at-home clay play delivered to doorsteps all over the world.

What would your clients say about you and your company?

Our corporate clients often say that our team pottery workshops help them disconnect from the daily grind and help them connect with each other. Customers always comment about how having their hands dirty with the clay because it forces them to unplug from their phones.

The other thing customers frequently note is how much they appreciate the personal customer service like me reaching out about including a gift note when I see the buyer is different than the recipient. I appreciate that they appreciate it :).

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

My friend + yoga teacher Laura Ahrens likes to say, ''Do your best and let go of the rest.''

What is your favorite book?

Beneath a Scarlet Sky

What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)

I really struggle with seasonal depression when the days get shorter and colder in New England. I want to go into hibernation mode, and it affects my productivity. This year, upon my therapists recommendation I bought myself a Happy Light to help deal with my winter blues through the exposure to some artificial sunlight.

What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying it in your career or business?

I've had some awesome media features recently, and got my biggest event request so far - 250 people! Woo woo. I was particularly stoked to be featured in the gift guides for Architectural Digest, Good Housekeeping, Real Simple, and hometown fav Boston.com

What advice would you give to your younger self?

If you want something, ask for it. If you don't ask, you can't get.

How do you enjoy your free time?

I love to travel. My favorite spots so far have been New Zealand, Spain + Kenya. Next up is a safari in Zambia. When I'm home, I enjoy spending my time hiking with my husband + our two rescue pups.

What is something that not many people know about you?

In addition to starting Pottery with a Purpose in April '21, I also purchased and am renovating an a-frame cabin in Vermont with my husband. We plan to rent it out on AirBnB soon!
