Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
Photography had always been a hobby for as long as I can remember. I would invest in cameras rather than purses or shoes. It was when I was pregnant with my son, Chase, that I purchased a semi-professional camera and started to experiment with the more technical aspects of the camera. My BA is in Child Development and at the time I was a preschool director and then eventually opened my own licensed preschool after my son was born. I started a blog for the parents and documented the children’s daily milestones with photos. I eventually started offering photo packages and doing themed photoshoots with the children. Friends and family started asking me to take maternity, newborn family photos, etc.
What would your clients say about you and your company?
We are fun to work with and incredibly patient with the little ones. We provide quality images and unique photo opportunities.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
``Rome wasn't built in a day``. Almost a decade ago, I photographed with the resident photographer of the Waldorf Astoria in NYC and I compared my camera to his (his was a beast). He looked at me and simply said those words. This resonated, and here I am like 4 cameras later, he was right.
What is your favorite book?
Worth Every Penny - Sarah Petty
What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)
My creative scatter brain could actually use more of these. I personally think my camera is my secret weapon. 😉
What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying it in your career or business?
I think overall just being able to wake up everyday and do what I love. However, we have had a really great win and experience that I never thought would ever happen. We were featured on Lifetime Television on two separate occasions photographing a wedding a newborn session, those photos were published in People Magazine, US Weekly, amongst other publications.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
You can absolutely be anything you want to be with enough hard work and determination.
How do you enjoy your free time?
With my son, and with friends. Traveling and trying new food (total foodie)
What is something that not many people know about you?
I have lived in 4 different states and re-started my business in all of them. I still travel to see clients in many of them.
