Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?
Yes! I grew up in Methuen and now live on the North Shore (Danvers) with my husband and two year old.
Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
I grew up with 3 brothers. So, obviously the responsibility of being the planner fell upon me at a young age. I took that skill into the corporate world and planned events for a tech company located in the Seaport. Internal events turned into marketing trade shows and incentive trips, soon I was handling the travel for 100+ person sales team. I was so good at organizing and coordinating every detail people started asking me for advice on their personal vacations. I LOVED it and turned it into a thriving side business. Then I became a Mom and everything changed for me. Everything I knew about traveling had to be thrown out the window but I decided I wasn’t going to let the fact I had a baby stop me from seeing the world. In fact, it made me want to travel more so I could share it all with her. I want to share what I learn with other Moms who don’t know where to start when it comes to traveling with kids. I have made it my mission to inspire families to travel with their kids and help make it as easy as possible.
What would your clients say about you and your company?
Not only am I passionate about travel, I am knowledgeable about the packages I sell and I LOVE details. I love learning about exactly what they envision for their trip and making it happen. I share my honest opinions and treat each vacation differently but still as lovingly as if it were my own.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
A Candle Doesn't Lose Light By Lighting Another Candle
What is currently your favorite book?
I love business and self development books - My favorite has been Brave Not Perfect by Reshma Saujani and I always go back to the Classics and childhood favorites like Pride and Prejudice or Anne of Green Gables
What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)
Trello! The free project management tool has completely changed how I manage both my business and home. It allows me to keep everything in one place so I never waste time searching. It helps me block my time to I am making the most of my limited work hours so I can be present with my family.
What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying it in your career or business?
This was an incredibly tough year for the travel industry as a whole. My biggest win is that I am still here despite a year of travel restrictions and quarantines. I used my down time to improve my customer experience and create marketing funnels. I am excited to be launching subscription boxes for families planning Walt Disney World trips next month to diversify a little bit.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
I wish I had learned to love myself when I was younger. I spent so many years as a people pleaser and perfectionist. I am grateful that it got me where I am today but I would want to let my younger self know it was better to be brave than perfect!
How do you enjoy your free time?
TRAVELING!!! I also enjoy going to the theatre with my girlfriends and game nights with my family.
What is something that not many people know about you?
I love murder mystery parties. I used to write dinner theatre shows in college (I went to Suffolk University) and now I write parties for my friends and family to enjoy.
