Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
The Collective Co. is a coworking and event space dedicated to women and those who support them on the South Shore of Massachusetts. Focused on community and growth, our coworking space offers a place to collaborate, thrive and be inspired. We've designed the space to be a gathering spot that fosters connection, creativity and development with other like-minded entrepreneurs, creators and go-getters in various stages of life and career.
What would your clients say about you and your company?
We're opening our doors in May but the support from our local community of women has been incredible as we've launched our brand. We're working hard to normalize the ups and downs that come with entrepreneurship, going after your dreams and life in general. We hear every day that having a physical space to work and connect with other like-minded women, especially now, is so needed. We're excited to offer space rental, programming, education, networking and more for local women and can't wait until we're open.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
To make sure that your happiness is never dependent on one thing in your life. It was explained to me as thinking about the pillars in your life that work as foundations. Your pillars could be your job, a relationship, family, your health, etc. and that it is important to do some self work and make sure that each of your pillars are bringing you joy and happiness and working for you and not against you. Essentially, if only one of those pillars is driving the bulk of your happiness or defining the bulk of your success, your days will be fully dependent on how that pillar is going. It was really eye opening for me in thinking about what matters most to me in my life — and defining what those pillars are and making adjustments as needed.
What is your favorite book?
I can't say I have just one because I've had different books that are favorites at different times in my life but more recently, The Source by Dr. Tara Swart
What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)
To-do List! It gets all of the lists in my head out and into something manageable!
What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying it in your career or business?
Currently just surviving every day is a major win haha. With COVID, two young children and launching a new business the days can be overwhelming. I celebrate the little wins each day and try to focus on what made me feel excited or inspired that day. I'm grateful for having a local, supportive community who is rooting me on. That is a huge win!
What advice would you give to your younger self?
To prioritize self love and discovery!
How do you enjoy your free time?
With my kids just playing and spending time with them or with my family!
What is something that not many people know about you?
That I horseback ride and have been riding since I was in high school.
