Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?

How did I get to the world of PR? My maternal grandfather was a baker (and served in the Korean war as such) and I have vivid memories of his challah and him sneaking me an extra cookie past the 3 my mother let us have; (Who doesn’t love a good bakery cookie?!) and my mother was a caterer for most of my childhood. So not only do I know how to pitch a good story, but I also know a lot about food, and what will work when talking with reporters. Good relationships with the media is essential. I want them to call me as much as I call them. That and the unwaving support from my parents and my husband, who always stood by me and told me I could whatever I set my mind to. And I did. Oh, that and my right brain – sometimes I feel like I don’t have a left. A knack for clear and powerful writing makes me a natural publicist. I have a sixth sense about what's hot and what's not and what will appeal to the media. My ability to come up with new ideas has gained me the highest respect among my peers. Able to think quickly on my feet and pitch an idea with the best of them, I have been told I am invaluable to my clients. I am able to leverage my close network of contacts to take advantage of existing story opportunities for clients or create new ones by pitching ideas that are creative and appealing. As for the wine...this came out of my love for planning events and connection (with) people. I am a wine consultant, specializing in Napa Valley wines now offering virtual tastings as a way to connect colleagues, clients, friends and family.
