Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?
No, I moved to Massachusetts for my previous career in higher education.
Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
I started my own health journey in 2012 and was diagnosed with PTSD and binge-eating disorder shortly after. While these diagnoses didn't change who I am, it did help me think about my motivations and coping mechanisms. While I've utilized therapy on and off for about 20 years, the deeper dive and research I've done in the past 5 years has been the most meaningful for me to make connections and explore the vast nature of health. As a coach, I help clients see the magic and power they have inside them through exploring health holistically through partnership and education.
What would your clients say about you and your company?
I'm dedicated to their well-being and strive to help them become better self-advocates as well as independent so that they don't need coaching for life.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
I don't know if it was advice, but I remember having a former supervisor tell me that they were so excited to mentor me and then they treated me terribly. Because of my experience, I work to create meaningful connections with those in my industry, especially those who are trying to learn.
What is your favorite book?
Alice in Wonderland
What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)
Electronic calendar
What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying it in your career or business?
Being open and honest with my clients is something I've always prided myself in because we cannot separate our persona lives from our professional lives.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
It's okay to challenge yourself and do things even if others don't understand it.
How do you enjoy your free time?
I love exploring new eats either homemade or going out. I also write and perform spoken word poetry.
What is something that not many people know about you?
I tried out for the competitive dance team because I needed electives my senior year of high school. I had danced for 5 years from 5th to 10th grade l and stopped to get a part-time job to save for college. Being on the team meant I could take dance classes and that helped me reconnect with that creative side.
