Yes, but I live on the South Shore.
Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
I have worked in college counseling and admission for over 20 years. I currently work as a school counselor in Boston and started College Possible LLC in 2019. Given the complexity of the College Application Process and seeing a need for first-generation students and families, College Possible LLC was created to provide a resource to families and organizations looking for structured, authentic and personalized support as they approach the college admission process. Being a first generation to college student myself, I made the decision to create a company that could provide resources to families who need assistance. I have always loved working with young people and have dedicated my career to doing just that.
What would your clients say about you and your company?
My clients would say I provide ethical and professional counseling and support throughout the college application process.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Just do it, don't worry about what others say. If you want it, go after it. Don't wait for others approval on the things you desire to achieve.
What is currently your favorite book?
Favorite Book: ``Kingdom Woman`` by Tony Evans and Chrystal Evans Hurst
What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)
Currently, my secret weapon is the Remarkable. I love writing notes on paper, but find it difficult to organize all those notes in one place. This device allows me to write my notes and save them in one handy location. My hand written notes can then be translated to text and saved in a word or google doc. I absolutely love this tool!
What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying it in your career or business?
I feel like I win everyday when I work with my students helping them to accomplish their dreams. I believe I am slaying it in my career when my students overcome their fears and feelings of inadequacy during the application process. Many of them don't fully believe in themselves, but I see their potential. Once they step out of their comfort zone, they start to realize their own potential and seeing them own it is a WIN in my book!
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Travel more
How do you enjoy your free time?
I love watching Netflix and HGTV. My day is spent in meetings and on the computer, so coming home and cuddling up on the couch watching the latest netflix series or episode of anything on HGTV helps me to relax and unwind.
What is something that not many people know about you?
I secretly would love to be a voiceover actress.
