Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?

I was born and raised in Rhode Island. Since junior year of college, I know I wanted to be in Boston. I was looking for a vibrant and diverse coastal city with a wide variety of opportunities. I've been here for 5+ years now and can openly state that I'm ever so grateful for the life I've created here from the relationships I've built alongside the opportunities I've been blessed with.

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?

Carissa Corsi Events is a modern chic, Boston-based wedding and event company built on the belief that magnetic connections drive the true beauty of life’s celebrations. Although I graduated with a Marketing degree and have been in a variety of marketing, event and project management roles across the board, I always found myself most connected to events. Throughout my career, I have organized/planned weddings of 200+ people, headed up logistics for industry trade shows, conferences, corporate, and social events such as baby & bridal showers, birthday parties, holiday parties and more. In the start of 2020, I decided to embark on the journey of starting my own event planning business and have recently launched at the end of September. It has been an exciting time for me and I’m looking forward to the road ahead.

What would your clients say about you and your company?

Carissa is absolutely amazing and truly deserves ten stars! I knew from our first meeting she had to be my day of coordinator, and she ended up so much more than that! She made sure everything was taking care of by reaching out to vendors and coordinating times/drop-offs which made me last couple weeks before the big day very stress-free. The day-of, she was a god sent! She was there taking care of business! Since we had a backyard wedding, we had a lot of vendors coming in and she set up a timeline that made the whole day go off without a hitch. She really did made my wedding vision come to life and executed it perfectly. She made sure my wedding day was smooth and everything was taken care of. Carissa truly went above and beyond, and I am very lucky to call her a friend. Highly highly recommend Carissa!

What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying it in your career or business?

My most recent WIN is getting selected to be featured as a vendor at both the We Are Women Owned Virtual Holiday Pop-Up and the Happily Ever Virtual Expo.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

``No one is YOU, and that's your superpower.``

How do you enjoy your free time?

The bulk of my free time consists of hanging out with my partner, family, friends and of course, my pups. I enjoy listening to audibles and podcasts, crafting, long walks or a workout session, exploring new places, or cuddling up on the couch to watch a movie/show. Lastly, I love volunteering and donate my time to the St. Patrick’s Soup Kitchen in Providence, RI every holiday season and whenever possible throughout the year.

What is something that not many people know about you?

A fun fact I’d run with (no pun intended) is that I’ve run three half marathons (Cambridge, MA, Portland, ME, & Newport, RI) and am committed to two more in 2021 (Nashville & Portland, ME for a second go-round)! I’m always up for any type of challenge, big or small, and this excites me as it pushes me to work towards something everso rewarding!
