Less than a year

Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I moved to Boston in fall of 2008, where I started my career in finance on the same day that Lehman Brothers failed! I fell in love with the city, built my dream career and community, and never left.

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?

I founded a company called Raiseworthy to help people know their worth and raise their salary. I spent 10+ years in the world of executive search and helping a thriving start up launch in Massachusetts. As a result of those years of experience negotiating compensation for executives, I've long been a go-to resource for friends when they feel undervalued or underpaid. The results have been consistent: greater confidence and higher salaries. My goal with Raiseworthy is to help more people achieve those results.

What would your clients say about you and your company?

My clients say that preparing for the conversation to advocate for yourself is so critical to feeling confident, appreciated, and authentic at the moment of truth. Knowing the business of salary and the unique value you offer is something that we all need to get comfortable with so that we can build better financial futures.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

To advocate for myself, because that's the only way to see results. Plus, not doing so hurts my feelings of worth, my bank account, the company I work for, the people I manage, and every person that follows in my footsteps!

What is your favorite book?

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle

What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)

Lunya washable silk pj's...I find that luxurious fabrics will make you feel good whether it's getting a great nights sleep, feeling good in your skin, or just being the perfect temperature (and fancy) while crushing work.

What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying it in your career or business?

I launched my company during a pandemic, had my first client within a week, and she just got the fantastic news that it worked! She got everything she asked for and more. I've known that my strategies work for a long time, but having a client, being paid, and then delivering on my promise was a huge win for me.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

You're incredibly resilient, you always make a huge impact, and success is inevitable, so laugh a little!

How do you enjoy your free time?

I adore spending time with my best friends (``the committee``) and my family. We spend most of our time cooking, drinking wine, attempting to convince our favorite exhale instructors to be our friends, visiting our families, manifesting future homes, and planning our next vacation(s). I also have a passion for a well executed cocktail (not these days, obviously), sushi, and reading a good book in the bath.

What is something that not many people know about you?

Most people don't know that it's hard for me to advocate for myself, too! Oh, and while it gets easier with time, it's still something I fear. Luckily I've proven to myself that it is more than worth it!
