Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
I am a business mentor and help women entrepreneurs start, build + grow their online businesses. I do this through my signature business coaching program, The Digital Business Builder, and I also offer 1:1 intensives + coaching. I also run a community networking group called The Sweat Republic. We connect fitness + wellness professionals so that they can connect, grow their brands/businesses + make bigger impacts. Our motto is community over competition and our focus is on connection + personal/professional growth. I've always been passionate about business development, community building + supporting others. My10-year career with lululemon eventually led me to wanting to start my own business as I managed a lot of local, regional + global community initiatives. I made a lot of amazing community relationships, listened for what was needed and created for my community.
What would your clients say about you and your company?
Client testimonial #1: I have been working with Julie in the DBBA course since May. I found it so invaluable that i signed up for the continuation course. Since taking part, I have stepped outside my comfort zone, giving up a business that was not suiting me both professionally or personally. I shifted my focus on doing what it truly is I love. In doing so, Ive been able to work less, make more money, have 3 day weekends (unless I take catering jobs) and my stress is gone. I love what I do and I was given the push by Julie and my fellow DBBA friends. I’ve learned so much about myself, my business, how to get where I want to go and letting go of the fear holding me back. Being connected with Julie and others has inspired me, motivated me and given me strength to go after what I truly want. I’m learning every day. I’m grateful for Julie, DBBA and the wonderfully talented and incredible humans I’ve met along the way. ||||| Client testimonial #2: The DBBA is been life saving for me and my business. When the Covid Closure hit and uncertainty set in, I felt like my brand new business was going to fail. A quick few pivots and we stayed afloat luckily! The program and community that Julie has created was a very big part of my success. She has an uncanny knack to deliver information creatively, simply, clearly + with such positivity. She is very good at creating a space for like minded professionals to share, grow + learn together. I highly recommend participating in the incredible DBBA program. It’s appropriate for all stages of personal + professional growth! You will be amazed with the knowledge and tools you will gain from just one module. So much so I have taken this course twice and I’m still constantly shocked with how much useful + insight I am receiving!
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Take messy action. You'll be waiting forever for it to be ``perfect`` - just start + put it out there.
What is your favorite book?
The Four Agreements
What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)
Secret weapon - start you day with a solid morning routine! Setting time side every morning to walk, workout, meditate, journal (whatever you may do) is such a great way to start your day.
What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying it in your career or business?
The Sweat Republic hosts an annual Int'l Women's Day + we were able to squeeze in our luncheon right before everything shut down for COVID. We had 220 women in attendance! We are very much looking forward to what next year's event brings! The Sweat Republic Membership Program also just re-opened its doors and welcomed 19 new members! We open doors to join a couple of times a year..
