Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?
No, I was raised in Connecticut but lived in California for 17 years after college. My husband and I relocated to the Greater Boston area from San Francisco after our first child was born to be closer to both of our families — who live in Boston, Connecticut, and Germany.

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
In my late 20s, I experienced a complete physical breakdown. I’d always been a passionate, driven perfectionist — chasing success, beauty, and achievement while working in social work, non-profits, and academia. Years of adrenaline and burnout finally caught up with me after graduate school, when I moved to San Francisco in 2005 and my body gave out.

In my search to heal, I discovered Ayurveda, which helped me understand that my anxiety, fatigue, depression, and digestive issues were signals — messages from my body to slow down and realign. Through small shifts in diet and lifestyle, I began to remember that my rhythms are connected to nature’s rhythms and that true vitality comes from listening to my body and trusting my intuition.

After years running my own Ayurvedic medicine practice in San Francisco, I became a mother and relocated cross-country. Between the move, motherhood, grief, and exhaustion, my old symptoms returned — until I realized that community was the missing link. When I joined a growth-minded Ayurvedic group, I found profound healing again, both physically and emotionally.

That experience inspired my Essential Living Course — a dynamic, group-based program for women who seek vibrant health and personal freedom. It focuses on three pillars:

  • Aligning daily habits with nature’s cycles
  • Learning tools for sustainable habit change
  • Building nurturing community for long-term growth

My clients experience deeper sleep, stronger immunity, steady energy, balanced digestion, emotional ease, and a renewed sense of joy and purpose — all through the wisdom of Ayurveda.

What would your clients say about you and your company?
Here’s a testimonial from one of my clients, Darina:

“I feel so fortunate to have met Courtney at a time when I was physically and emotionally exhausted. After speaking with her, I knew I wanted to heal on a deeper level. Within twelve weeks of the Essential Living Course, I’ve experienced incredible results — I feel more balanced, nourished, and rejuvenated. My energy is steady, my mind is clear, and I’ve found real joy in my daily rhythm again. This course has been a life saver!”

Her full feedback included improvements such as better sleep, digestion, reduced inflammation, less anxiety, increased patience and positivity, and even freedom from medication.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Get really clear on what you truly desire most in life — and invest your time, energy, and money into it. Investing in yourself is never a waste. Seek mentorship from people who are already living the life you want.

What is your favorite book?
I can’t choose just one! The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk and The Temple of My Familiar by Alice Walker are two of my favorites.

What is your secret weapon?
Meditation, yoga, and my Ayurvedic habits — they help me stay aligned, focused, and creative. Also, the project management app Asana keeps my business life beautifully organized!

What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying in your career or business?
My Essential Living Course community is thriving! The women in the group are deeply committed, supportive, and fully engaged in their transformation — it’s been incredible to witness.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
You have a boundless source of creativity and potential within you. Stop searching for it outside of yourself. Do the inner work, trust yourself, and the right path will become clear.

How do you enjoy your free time?
Spending time with my husband, kids, and friends; hosting dinner parties; yoga, meditation, gardening, interior design, reading, and being in nature.

What is something that not many people know about you?
My second career choice would have been as a female solo artist!
