Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?

Yes! I was born in Boston and grew up in Tewksbury, MA. I attended Boston College and then went on to medical school in Arizona. I returned back to Boston for all of my medical training, including internship, residency and fellowship. I currently reside in Chestnut Hill and own a medical spa in Newton Centre, MA.

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?

I’m the founder and owner of Dr. Renee Moran Medical Aesthetics based in Newton Centre. We recently celebrated our one year anniversary in May. In addition, I am a double Board-Certified Anesthesiologist and sub-specialize as an Interventional Pain Medicine Physician. I have been treating patients with chronic migraine headaches with Botox injections for a little over a decade. Combining that experience with my love of all things beauty and health, I developed a passion for medical aesthetics and received my certification in cosmetic procedures including neurotoxins, dermal fillers, and micro needling. At the medspa we also offer hydrafacials, medical-grade chemical peels, Kybella, IV therapy, CoolSculpting and CoolTone. My goal is to help women of all ages feel their best and enhance their outward appearance. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

What would your clients say about you and your company?

I think our clients would tell you that we love what we do and tailor our approach to determine treatments that best suit their aesthetics goals and skin condition.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve received is… you have to jump in vs. putting your toe in the water. I’m a Doctor at a Boston hospital, mother of two and a stepmom, so my schedule is pretty hectic. With the support of my husband and his encouragement I took the plunge. Days can turn into weeks, then into months. Time goes by so quickly. Take that chance now and follow your passion. You won't regret you did.

What is your favorite book?

Between Grit & Grace

What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)

I can’t live without my To-do lists and Trello. They keep me sane and organized both personally and professionally. I keep an overall list and then a daily list. Checking items off those lists is incredibly satisfying , as Lee Iacocca said “ The discipline of writing something down is the first step toward making it happen”.

What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying in your career or business?

I recently launched my own medical grade skincare line- RM Skincare, and an online store to make the overall experience at our Medspa simple and easy for all clients. The timing coincided with the coronavirus pandemic and the temporary closure of the spa so it was especially important for us to be able to provide skincare products for our clients to use at-home including facial kits and quarantine skincare routines.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Be more confident and remove self-doubt from your inner thoughts. Believe in yourself. Practice more positive thinking and it will open up more doors.

How do you enjoy your free time?

I like to spend my free time with my family, working out, gardening and traveling.

What is something that not many people know about you?

I have my black belt in TaeKwonDo.
