Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
Main Paige Media is a strategic video production agency focused on uplifting businesses that uplift women. I started the company (pun most definitely intended) in April 2019 after nearly four years at Simmons University, where I created all external-facing video content as a one-woman team.
Working at a women’s college deeply influenced how I run my business today. Toward the end of my time there, I began interviewing alums who had started their own businesses — and realized how powerful and inspiring their stories were. That experience gave me the courage to take the leap into entrepreneurship. Leaving a full-time job was scary, but the impact of those entrepreneurs gave me the confidence to jump.
What would your clients say about you and your company?
My clients often praise my ability to just get it. I love listening to their ideas and transforming them into a creative vision. I’ve always been intuitive, and it’s incredibly rewarding to use that strength to help others tell their stories.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
One of my mentors encouraged me not to have a scarcity mindset — that shift changed everything for me when I was starting out.
What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, an organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)
Soapbox by Wistia — send video emails! It will completely change the way you connect.
What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying in your career or business?
Despite the challenges of COVID, I was amazed by my high volume of sales. My business celebrated its one-year anniversary during quarantine, and so many past clients reached back out for new projects — that’s been the most rewarding win of all!
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t sweat the small stuff. I was such a worrier as a kid and forgot to just live a little!
How do you enjoy your free time?
Reading, walking my dog, drinking wine, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
What is something that not many people know about you?
Most people are surprised to learn that I tutored middle schoolers in math for years — and in college, I actually struggled to choose between studying film or secondary education!
