Boston Business Women

BBW MEMBER INTERVIEW: Jennifer Chioccariello, Master Skin Care Therapist

What is your name and occupation?
Jennifer Chioccariello, Master Skin Care Therapist

How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?
Less than a year

What is your Instagram handle?
@jeniello

Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?
No, I grew up in The Berkshires. There wasn’t a lot of opportunity back home within the industry, so I headed out for the big city — Boston, not New York ;-)

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
I love helping women achieve their skin health goals from the inside out. My proprietary process integrates the multiple inner layers of you, combined with a topical approach for a clear, balanced, whole, and holistic solution to all your skin concerns. I own my own company, Skin From Within.

What would your clients say about you and your company?
They would say, and do say, I make them feel like they’re my only client.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Do only what you enjoy, not what’s trending.

What is your favorite book?
The Bible

What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, an organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)
Jesus

What is your most recent WIN? How are you slaying in your career or business?
Opening my practice in a building that I own — one my husband, son, and I built, decorated, and designed. We literally brought a long-time vision to life, and it’s here now in the flesh — incredible. I have a small Skin Care Studio on my property, separate from our main house. It was a huge task requiring a lot of research with the town and state board, but I’m legit, legal, and approved by the State Board — and that’s a great feeling.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Specialize. Really. Do only what makes your heart sing, and the rest will take care of itself.

How do you enjoy your free time?
With my family doing family stuff — reading, studying, or writing. Life is precious and short, and I’ve learned never to take health for granted (though I do need reminders now and again). I also enjoy working out — swimming, biking, jogging, hiking, strength training, meditating, etc. But most of all, I love spending time with family. Our son is big into golf, and I truly enjoy the peace and calm of the courses, all while appreciating God’s creation.

What is something that not many people know about you?
Life within the industry hasn’t always been easy or filled with roses. It’s been hard — a lot of blood, sweat, tears, arguments, and perseverance went into getting where I am today. I’ve made many mistakes, but my biggest lesson was learning that I can’t do this on my own — through my own works — but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Nothing has been handed to me on a silver platter, and it hasn’t come easy. I’ve quit thinking I’d never return — yet here I am.
