Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?
No, I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and moved to Martha's Vineyard, MA tend years ago to pursue my cooking career.
Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, now working as a sous chef, food blogger, and social media manager on Martha's Vineyard. My love for food takes me all over the globe, and that's how I got started in the world of social media. As a food blogger on Cooking with Books, I've developed a brand of over 40,000 followers on my social media platforms. Not only a social media manager for Island clients, I am also a brand strategist for national food brands. My outlook on social media is all about consistency and gorgeous photos–and although a tweet is only 280 characters, a photo attached is worth a thousand words! Alongside my partner Angela, we take on the island's top businesses social media on the daily.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Leap and the net will appear - saw it on a greeting card and it's inspired me ever since!

What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)
Without Buffer for scheduling our social media posts for clients, there would be no way to do this and still have a life. Also, during the spring and summer I get up at 5am to get in four hours of work before going into the restaurant.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Trust your instincts. I think we forget that our gut instinct is an actual things and we should always go with our gut!
How do you enjoy your free time?
Reading and traveling - during the season the restaurant is open, I work endless hours a day alongside a team, so quiet time reading my favorite books is just what I love.
What is something that not many people know about you?
I'm an introvert.
