Yes, I was.
Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
BILT, Inc. was founded in May 2019. After years of working for others in the human services field, I wanted to branch out and create something of my own. My business partner and I joined forces to launch our nonprofit, which serves individuals in their homes through caregiving and in-home skill-building.
Our long-term vision is to help families manage their children’s living situations with compassion and structure — providing the kind of care and stability every family deserves.
What would your clients say about you and your company?
They’d say we’re compassionate, friendly, and provide quality care. Many families tell us our caregivers feel like part of their family — easing the stress of caring for a loved one with a disability.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Fake your confidence, and eventually it becomes natural.
What is your favorite book?
Anything by Nora Roberts.
What is your secret weapon?
My planner — it keeps everything organized and on track.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t be so hard on yourself, and don’t get discouraged when things don’t go as planned.
How do you enjoy your free time?
I love hiking, walking my dog, going to the beach, and trying new restaurants.
What is something that not many people know about you?
I actually like cats more than dogs.
