Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?
I was raised in New Hampshire, worked in China for 25 years, and am now back to be closer to my father.
Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
I first started studying Mandarin at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire in 1984 and traveled to China that same year. I knew immediately that I was in love with the country — its language, people, and culture — and I wanted to build a career around that passion.

Clients say that I’m quick to solve problems, highly experienced, and well-connected across China and the Asia Pacific region.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t be afraid to travel.

How do you enjoy your free time?
We have three rescue dogs from China, and they keep us busy with their unique personalities and food preferences — never a dull moment!

I used to be an awesome water skier back in the day!
