BBW MEMBER INTERVIEW WITH: Robyn Fatseas, Pediatric Behavioral Therapist

What is your name and occupation?

Robyn Fatseas, Pediatric Behavioral Therapist

How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?

Less than a year

Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?

I was born and raised south of Boston in Quincy. I left for school and to learn my craft before returning to the area a few years ago.

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?

As far back as I can remember I knew I wanted to work with children when I got older. As a 5th grader I decided to be a therapist; in fact, I began providing “therapy” during classroom downtime that year. I offered an ear for anyone who wanted to problem solve, or just needed someone to listen. A few years later I came up with the name that is in my business today, Robyn’s N.E.S.T., with N.E.S.T. being an acronym for Nurturing Emotional Success Together. As a wildly driven child, I created and named a dream. I had no idea what it would take to make this dream a reality, nor the incredible journey I would take along the way.

What would your clients say about you and your company?

Parents often tell me I have been the answer to a question they didn’t know how to ask. I my work is action focused, if the family does not see or feel a positive change, I change what I do until everyone is benefiting from the growth.

What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)

Empathy and a desire to teach others to become the best selves they can be. With this at the core of my work I am better equipped to empower those I work with.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Let go of the anxiety and keep the drive. Anxiety is an unhelpful state of mind, often connected to things not 100% in your control.

How do you enjoy your free time?

My free time is spent teaching children at a confidence based drama program.
