Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?
Born and raised here! I grew up in Attleboro, MA and moved up to Boston for college at Northeastern. While I've lived in a couple of other places since (Germany, Ohio, Cali), Boston is most certainly my home! I now live here in Somerville with my wonderful husband and two amazing (and incredibly naughty) kids.
Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
In the Spring of 2013, I was on a mission to complete my baby registry in preparation for the arrival of my first child. Inline with her “library” themed baby shower, I went on the hunt to find books about Indian culture that I could share with her newborn daughter. Of the few books that spoke to her Indian heritage, I realized that none of these books took into account the developmental needs of her growing child. Recognizing this gap in children’s literature, the idea for Bharat Babies was born. Nearly five years later, Bharat Babies has changed the face of children's literature, diversifying it one story at a time. Our books have been featured on the Today Show, People Magazine, US Weekly, New York Post and so much more. With 13 titles to date, our mission is produce diverse kid's lit for a diverse world.
What would your clients say about you and your company?
Our fans love our books because of how well our stories are constructed, and the keen attention to detail.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
