What is your name and occupation?
Tamar Frieze, Co-Owner of Two Eight Four Wedding and Events
What is your instagram handle?
@284weddings
How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?
Less than a year
Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?
Yes, born and bred in Boston.
Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
I have been working in the event and wedding planning industry since I graduated college in 2003. I spent years working for and in partnership with Hopple Popple, Inc. (an award winning Boston-based wedding and event planning firm) and also in between as the Event Marketing Director of Boston Common Magazine. This year, Hopple Popple owner Linda Matzkin decided to retire. My partner, Abby Matzkin Gordon, and I launched Two Eight Four Weddings as a result, naming the company after Hopple Popple's office address to pay homage to the many wonderful and successful years we planned there.
What would your clients say about you and your company?
Our clients always comment about how the time we spent planning was as fun as the wedding itself, and that they miss seeing us week after week once its all over. They also consistently say that their wedding exceeded every expectation they had, that there was magic in the air, and that they wish they could do it all over again!
What is your favorite book?
The Language of Flowers (novel), His Excellency: George Washington (non fiction)
What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)
Years of experience has honed our process to perfection... and I can't live without Microsoft Outlook.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Keep doing what you're doing! It will all work out!
