BBW MEMBER INTERVIEW WITH: Christina Maria Guibas, REALTOR, Coldwell Banker & Founder, Salon Series of Boston

What is your name and occupation?

Christina Maria Guibas, REALTOR with Coldwell Banker New England and Founder of the Salon Series of Boston

How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?

Less than a year

Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?

I moved to Boston in the Fall of 2007 to attend music conservatory at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts as a piano performance major. I took on a number of students and stayed for my Masters. Before I knew it, I was in love with this city!

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?

I was desperately in need of financial solutions, having graduated conservatory with a ton of debt and having no help or connections. A friend recommended I meet with the manager of the Coldwell Banker in Arlington for advice. She ultimately offered me a job! Coming from the art world, I was accustomed to perpetual criticism and crippling competition but the real estate world embraced my tenacity and independence. I love working with clients, studying the city that I love, and I feel optimistic about my future. Now with the probability of a financially stable future, I can once again join the art world through the founding of my new series the Salon Series of Boston, but this time it will be on my own terms.

What would your clients say about you and your company?

I like to have my clients speak for themselves: ``Christina. Is. Amazing!!!!! She is the reason I even knew I had a chance on the place and the reason I bid on it. She is honest, was in frequent contact, bargained well for me (I feel I got a really good deal), she was really generous with her time, and had great advice throughout the process. She is an incredibly hard worker and she turned what should have been a terrible experience into a wonderful one. Thank you so much, Christina!`` || ``Our experience with Christina was excellent! She was so helpful and informative on perspective neighborhoods, and flexible with her schedule to accommodate us on a moments notice. She made our first time home buying experience extremely positive- even in the crazy Boston area housing market. I could not recommend Christina enough.`` || ``Christina is a fantastic realtor. I was on a very tight schedule and had some fairly strict criteria for a rental property that included good schools and a reasonable commute. I flew from the UK, having never spent any time in Boston, and met Christina the next day. She arrived on time with a folder containing detailed descriptions of eight properties and a schedule to see them all within a few hours. Each property met my requirements, and Christina allocated the right amount of time at and between each property. We never felt rushed, and we completed all eight viewings on schedule. One of the properties stood out, and Christina worked nonstop until we signed the lease. We are now thinking about buying a house in the local area and look forward to working with Christina again`` || ``My experience with Christina was great! I was relocating from New York to Boston and searching for an apartment with Christina's help. Christina was prompt, organized, efficient and incredibly friendly. She was easy to work with and was an effective communicator, encouraging a productive dialogue that led us to renting a great apartment. I feel lucky to have had Christina on my team and would recommend her to anyone! `` || ``Excellent realtor. She was incredibly organized, helpful and communicative. It also helped that she was fun and interesting to talk to as well. After we found my current apartment, she has continued to stay in touch with real-estate news and listings in which I may be interested. I would highly recommend her to anyone.`` || ``Christina did an amazing job as my buyer's agent. She worked with my unusual housing needs and within my budget. She even helped me to negotiate a price that was far better than I was hoping for on the home of my dreams. And, her patience with the questions of a first-time home buyer is worthy of sainthood. I highly recommend working with her.``
