BBW MEMBER INTERVIEW WITH: Florine Peutz Palthe – Lean Innovation & Transformation Coach

What is your name and occupation?

Florine Peutz Palthe - Lean Innovation & Transformation Coach

What is your instagram handle?

@flopalthe

How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?

Less than a year

Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?

No I was born and raised in the Netherlands. I moved here in summer 2017 with my husband for his work, and have been loving it so far!

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?

I help companies create a culture of autonomy and innovation. I've always been working in Innovation. I studied Strategic Innovation, and then went on in helping companies create new products and services. Quickly, I saw that a lot of companies don't know how, and my impact could be greater if I'd teach and coach them. I've applied a lot of the Design Thinking, Lean Startup and Agile approach, and became a coach in this. I coach internal startups and innovation teams within enterprises, as well as small companies. Besides, I work with these companies on transforming their company structure and culture, to enable innovation and creativity.

What would your clients say about you and your company?

I've often been told by clients that I bring fresh and new perspectives, in a non-intrusive way. I build trust and relationships with the people I work with and have a stable personality, yet I also bring new energy and enthusiasm to make a positive change.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Think big, act small - I've found myself having many new ideas and being overwhelmed by them. Applying this advice helps me to start really small, doing little experiments to see if these ideas are worthwhile pursuing, before directing all my attention and focus to it.

What is your favorite book?

The Alchemist - Paolo Coelho

What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)

My secret weapon is my drive to understand people, their needs, motivations and fears. This helps in creating new products and services for your customers, as well as creating the ultimate employee experience.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Do listen to that inner voice!

How do you enjoy your free time?

I love spending my free time outdoors. I am an active kitesurfer and surfer, and I love hiking and skiing too. Other than that, I also just really like to go out for dinner, drinks, or a coffee. Spending time with friends, family, and especially my husband gives me a lot of energy. My perfect days are when I get to combine those: kitesurfing with my husband is always a blast!

What is something that not many people know about you?

That I always sing along with songs in the car, but kind of sing in my own language, making up the lyrics based on the sounds I hear 😉
