BBW MEMBER INTERVIEW WITH: Julie Bryan, Attorney

BBW MEMBER INTERVIEW WITH: Julie Bryan, Attorney

What is your name and occupation?

Julie Bryan, Attorney

How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?

2 years

Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?

No, I was raised in Michigan, went to college in Wisconsin, and law school in Chicago. I moved to Boston to be closer to family.

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?

I work with individuals and companies regarding all manner of legal issues and courtroom fights. In law school I found the debate about how laws were applied to disputes the most exciting part, so it was natural for me to become a litigator and try and fight for my clients in court.

What would your clients say about you and your company?

My clients appreciate I am a no nonsense lawyer who will be as aggressive as they want me to be, but my integrity is paramount, and I will never compromise that. We are a full service firm with big firm capabilities at a more reasonable fee, and our work and attention will always add value to our clients.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Set boundaries for yourself, and make sure they are known so others understand them.

What is your favorite book?

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)

My kids. They give me strength, fill my heart with joy, and remind me why I work as hard as I do.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Have fun in your life and remember that mistakes are not shameful -- they make you smarter and stronger!

How do you enjoy your free time?

I play in the mountains of New Hampshire with my husband and kids, read books, watch movies, and train for triathlons.

What is something that not many people know about you?

Before law school I was a trainer for Planet Hollywood and opened six stores around the world as a server trainer.
