What is your name and occupation?

Aubrey Schwartz, Co-Founder of Social Thrive

What is your instagram handle?

@SocialThriveBos

How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?

Less than a year

Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?

I was born and raised outside of Boston in Shrewsbury.

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?

Social Thrive is an a digital marketing and advertising agency focused on creating and delivering dynamic and powerful online presences for a wide range of clientele. We work with B2B and B2C companies, restaurants, nonprofits, mobile app developers, and commercial and residential real estate developers. Social Thrive focal points are: content creation/management and advertising creation/management. In 2010 I recognized the growth of online marketing expanding to social media. It was underutilized at the time. As cliché as it sounds, I felt that this area was going to be huge and that more businesses would look to social channels in their everyday marketing strategies to advertise their services and products. It became my charge to enter this field. Since founding Social Thrive, with co-founder, Kristine Resendes, the company has grown tremendously. We represent companies and organizations in Greater Boston, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Illinois, New Jersey, and New York . To celebrate our growth and success, we most recently rebranded from our previous name of Social Drive to Social Thrive.

What would your clients say about you and your company?

Just last week we had a client say, “I remember the day my colleague put me in touch with your team – we are so grateful for that day.” It is these trusted and friendly relationships that make what we do special. Our partnerships are so important to us, because we become members of our clients’ teams publishing content on their channels that contribute to their brand personality and success.

We don’t want to disappoint and want to prove our worth. What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Best advice: To respond to a client email within six hours (weekend or not). And to hire people smarter than you - which I could not agree with more.

What is your favorite book?

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith and Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie.
What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)

Siri helps me keep organized. With two babies, I often do my best thinking while driving in the car. That is when things typically come to mind. I give orders to Siri all day long, setting up reminders for myself using the app on my iPhone.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

“You’re much more capable than you think you are.”

What is something that not many people know about you?

I am grateful for the life that I have and I don’t take it for granted. I know that I have a work life situation that some women wish for. I’m able to earn a great living while working from home with my children. Sometimes, the day-to-day grind with managing a family and career can be hard and exhausting. However, there are more blessings and despite the challenges, everything manages to work out.
