What is your name and occupation?
Naomi Raiselle, film maker, videographer, coach and speaker
How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?
2+ years
Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?
My then boyfriend (now husband of many years!) decided to go to Emerson College. We met in NYC, and both of us moved to Boston.
Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
I had started my career teaching H.S. and college creative writing and literature; some years later, when teaching became teaching for the MCAS, I left, opened Urban Revival Personal Growth Consulting on Newbury St. I offered consulting and counseling for couples and individuals. I studied Svaroopa yoga and included yoga classes for my clients. In 2004, my husband (who had been a successful corporate videographer) and I showcased at the first LGBTQ wedding expo in Boston - sponsored by the Lenox hotel and Bloomingdales. We met many lovely couples, one who contacted us the day Equal Marriage became law in Massachusetts, to film their wedding on the first day Equal Marriage was legal. The couple turned out to be one of the Plaintiff couples who filed the law suit against the state and won. I got behind a camera for the first time at their historic wedding and was hooked.
