How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?

1 year

Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?

I moved to the Boston area from Philadelphia for both graduate school and my ex boyfriend. I finished my Master's in Counseling Psychology, broke up with my boyfriend, but decided to stay in the area and shortly after I met my husband and opened a counseling practice, as well as a coaching business!

Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?

I’ve always been obsessed with relationships and the concept of love. Being in love and part of a #powercouple brings us the greatest sense of joy in life, and we also know through medical research that being in a healthy and happy partnership helps us live longer, fight off disease, and allows us to be more creative and successful in our individual goals. Love Successfully is my virtual coaching business that spun out of my mental health counseling practice, which is based in Back Bay in Boston and Harvard Square in Cambridge, because I realized there was a non-clinical need in the community and around the country for quality and research-backed advice for people struggling with breakups, dating, and in their relationships. I'm passionate about helping people create love lives that thrive! My clients are successful, educated people who have incredible jobs and great friends, but just can't seem to get it together in the romantic department. They don’t necessarily need to see a traditional therapist for depression or anxiety, but rather are looking for assistance talking through things like creating a standout dating profile or how to strategically move through the angst-filled stages of early dating. I wanted to normalize the struggles we all experience in the continuum of surviving a big breakup, to figuring out the nuances of online dating, to figuring out how to create a relationship in which you break free from old negative patterns. I provide guided support and solutions for these problems so that you can get out of your own way and learn how to accept and receive the love you deserve and desire.

What would your clients say about you and your company?

My clients tell me that I feel like your therapist and BFF combined to help you work through your issues in love. They often tell me how much they appreciate that I don't just offer my opinion, but that I provide advice that is backed by science and data.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Your thoughts create your reality, so imagine the reality you can create when you stop engaging in stinkin' thinkin' and start focusing on abundant, positive thoughts.

What is your favorite book?

I have to play favorites here and say my own book, ``Breaking Up & Bouncing Back: Moving on to Create the Love Life You Deserve``, which helps you survive a soul-crushing breakup and develop healthy skills to a happy dating life

What is your secret weapon? An app, a tool, a organization method, anything?! (Can be a personal or professional life tool)

Fitness! No matter how busy life gets, I prioritize workouts 5-6 days per week and treat them like an important appointment with myself. I love boxing, strength training, Btonepilates, barre at Exhale Spa, and running the Harvard stadium stairs, which all do wonders for my mental health and physical health.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Stop people pleasing so much; Only say yes to projects that feel good and fill you with joy and energy; be patient when things don't happen overnight.

How do you enjoy your free time?

I love to spend quality time with my husband, who is my best friend, doing things such as hiking, beaching, golfing, brunching, and taking epic vacations–we did a safari in Tanzania and gorilla tracking in Rwanda last summer and just recharged in the Bahamas this spring!

What is something that not many people know about you?

Although I'm busy hustling as an entrepreneur, I'm always open to making new friends, so please reach out and say hello!
