BBW Member interview with: HeHe Stewart, Maternity Concierge, Birth and Infant Expert

What is your name and occupation?
HeHe Stewart, Maternity Concierge, Birth and Infant Expert
What is your instagram handle?
@tranquilitybyhehe
How long have you been a Boston Business Women’s Member?
Less than a year.
Were you born and raised in Boston? If not, what brought you here?
I was born and raised in Mississippi! I moved to Boston from Alabama because I attended The University of Alabam for graduate school. While getting my Master’s degree, I met my partner and he is originally from Connecticut. We both wanted to be in a big city and chose Boston over NYC because it’s cleaner (and smells better!) and has a homier feel than New York which I knew I would miss from home! The winters are brutal, but I love the city.
Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
My background includes Human Development and Family Studies, Early Childhood Education, and Infant/Toddler Development and Care. Through these I fell in love with birth work and empowering women to have the births they deserve, to advocate for themselves, and to confidently approach parenthood knowing they are supported. I first began my research into the birth world through the postpartum lense since that’s where I started and then birth followed and shortly after that infertility support. Tranquility by HeHe focuses on selfcare in parenthood and knowing your options when having a baby. We are intentional about our approach and aim to provide a luxurious experience for our clients. As a Maternity Concierge, I take care of all things considered when having a baby. From research on the latest baby gear to organizing baby showers and nurseries to helping you prepare for your baby’s arrival. I have partnered with amazing practitioners who make up the Tranquility Team and are also women’s health professionals who care for my clients so the care is continuous and comprehensive. You don’t have to look very far to find what you’re looking for when you’re a TBH client. We love pampering our clients!
What would your clients say about you and your company?
My clients love that I nudge them to dig deep. I encourage a lot of thinking about your options and why that choice makes sense for you. By word of mouth, I have organically become someone who supports birthing people who have anxiety or who have had a traumatic birth experience. My clients love the knowledge and resources I offer along with a compassionate, gentle space to explore their options and be heard.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Lead by example and stay in your own lane.
What’s your favorite book?
Too many to choose from but I can say what’s currently my favorite: personal- Fear Nothing, Lisa Gardner & Professional- Here’s the Plan, Allyson Downey
What’s your secret weapon?
Outsource, outsource, outsource!
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Be kind to everyone, but always be authentically you. In the end, the people who know and love you will be your best asset and the people who dislike were never your people anyway. So bottom line: “You do you, but always be kind.”
What is something that not many people know about you?
I danced in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2008!
