Tell us more about your job or company and what led you to your career?
I am a fundraising manager for a non-profit of a rare disease that almost exclusively affects females. I previously worked for a staffing company that supported Rettsyndrome.org and I was the corporate liason. Fast forward a few years and I decided to take my passion of event planning and helping others and joined Rettsyndrome.org as their Fundraising & Events Manager.
What would your clients say about you and your company?
Our “clients” are the families we service, medical professionals we offers grants to and of course our donors! I would hope they say we are good stewards of their contributions, time and resources. We pride ourselves on helping advance research for a rare disease.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Do the right thing- even when it’s hard.
What’s your favorite book?
Sappy love story of course- “Me Before You”. Even though it is a sappy story the message to me was powerful. Take care of those who need it, even when they think they don’t.
What’s your secret weapon?
Lists and putting EVERYTHING on a calendar. When you have multiple priorities (and multiple jobs) you HAVE to be organized. If not, you can hurt yourself, your brand and your company.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Take more chances with your professional life and don’t be afraid to ask for what you want.
What is something that not many people know about you?
I can do a killer Russian accent. =)
