5 Tips to Fall Fashion
Transition – applies to both certain summer pieces that have staying power into the new season as well as items you stored at the end of last season. Can that tunic be belted over leggings and worn with a vest or scarf? Are you ready to pull things out from under your bed and prepare for cozy-sweater weather? Make these transitions when you are ready and you will welcome the change of season.
Cull – this action verb pairs well with the above. Moving clothes from “on deck” to “at bat” is an ideal time to consider what you really love.
Explore – look at trends, browse the stores but make sure your decisions are based on what will work well in your closet or that will add something extra to what you know you wear all the time.
Invest in these items and they will carry you through every season, not just the current one.
Shop – go to the brick and mortar locations and be sure to try everything on. Ask the salespeople what trends seem to be most popular and have the most staying power. You can always shop online after you have experienced the trends and clothing in person. How does it fit? How does it feel? These are imperative questions to ask yourself.
Accessorize – even if you are wearing all the clothes from your last twirl through the fall/winter season, new accessories are a great way to freshen up your wardrobe. A punchy-colored bag (think red or cobalt), a fabulous animal print shoe – invest in these items and they will carry you through every season, not just the current one.
